Welcome to my personal blog!
Each fitness journey usually has a good story, otherwise it would not be called a “journey” and I wanted to give you a little insight about mine. Working out never came easy to me. In fact, I hated it; as a kid, I never wanted to play sports, I was never athletic and was always made fun of for being on the chubbier side. It wasn’t until my earlier 20’s that I decided I wanted to be skinny - so naturally, I started doing a bunch of cardio and eating more vegetables and egg whites. As terrible as that sounds, it worked! I lost some weight, but the lifestyle was unsustainable and I was starting to hit a bit of a plateau. As I evolved, I started learning about the Keto diet, signed up for HIIT workouts at a popular gym 6 days a week and believe or not, I lost even more weight. Simultaneously, I also lost a lot of hair, my period, and a lot of energy. It wasn’t until about five years ago that I learned that none of that works - no fad diets, fancy workout classes, or running until you’re going to throw up is going to make you “healthy”. Furthermore, you can look so “skinny” or “fit” on the outside but feel like crap on the outside and I knew that was not how I wanted to feel. With that, I went back to the basics - I started learning about the importance of weight lifting, how essential healthy carbs are, the dangers of processed food and seed oils, how vital protein is, and the beauty of steak, eggs and raw milk. In the fullness of time, I learned that the health and wellness industry is constantly in evolution and you have to be really careful about what you can trust - but what you know can be true are the concepts that have been around hundreds to thousands of years that are proven to be healthy. Sometimes you need someone to pull you back and say “hey, you are totally overcomplicating this” and that is what I intend to do. To be a reminder for people that health and wellness comes from the inside and if I can save people from going down the same rollercoaster I went down that I know I did my job.
